mTuitive Customers Sweep ImagineNation Momentum Awards

Rouge Valley Health System, North York General Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Science Centre Show Huge Gains in Synoptic Reporting

Boston, MA - mTuitive congratulates three of its customers for winning ImagineNation Outcomes Challenge's Momentum Awards. It was just announced that Rouge Valley Health System, North York General Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Science Centre took First, Second and Third place (respectively) and were awarded a total of $60,000. The Momentum Awards are "given to teams who had the greatest increase in users of their innovative health IT solutions between January 1 and October 31, 2012." In the field of Clinical Synoptic Reporting, each of the facilities were able to demonstrate that more people were creating synoptic pathology reports using mTuitive's xPert for Pathology product.

The ImagineNation Outcomes Challenge aims to "accelerate the use and spread of innovative solutions in health care information and communication technologies...with the potential to improve health care quality and the patient experience in Canada." Health providers are encouraged to sign up for the outcomes challenge by filling out a short application and submitting a brief video detailing the method used to conform to synoptic reporting standards.

Rouge Valley Health System won first place and was awarded $30,000 for their efforts in using synoptic reporting. Rouge Valley's Laboratory Applications Analyst, Sabir Kazmi, said that:

We are very proud of our pathologists and staff who have been using the mTuitive synoptic reporting tool to produce their reports. Our thanks to the mTuitive team not only for their synoptic reporting tool that is easy to use but also for their prompt support to resolve all issues that have arisen. This award reflects the continued commitment by Rouge Valley and mTuitive working together to improve reporting procedures and thus improve patients' care. Congratulations go to all!
Rouge Valley previously won the Early Adopter Award from ImagineNation back in January 2012.

North York General Hospital's Joanne Tomassi, Manager of Lab Support, said

North York is excited to have received this award from ImagineNation Outcomes Challenge. The additional funds are always welcomed, but we're especially glad that it reflects our commitment to synoptic pathology reporting and providing the best care possible for our patients. All of our pathologists are dedicated to using mTuitive's synoptic reports to ensure physicians can make informed decisions when administering care.
North York has not previously won an award from ImagineNation Outcomes, but has continuously used synoptic reporting solutions for their pathology reporting since the beginning of 2008. Today's announced win of 2nd place for a $20,000 award indicates they are well on their way to qualifying for more awards in the future.

Sunnybrook Health Science Centre has previously won two awards from ImagineNation Outcomes Challenge: In November 2011, Sunnybrook won the first Early Adopter award for Clinical Synoptic Reporting and then took Third Place in the Trailblazer Awards earlier this year in May. Corwyn Rowsell, MD, FRCPC, FCAP, the Director of Surgical Pathology at Sunnybrook, was excited to learn that they had taken third in the Momentum Awards.

The Department of Anatomic Pathology at Sunnybrook is pleased to have placed 3rd in the Momentum phase of the ImagineNation Outcomes challenge. We are proud to be leaders in the field of Pathology synoptic reporting, and the mTuitive synoptic reporting tool continues to play an essential role in our cancer reporting strategy.

Congratulations to Rouge Valley, North York, Sunnybrook and all of the award winners in the ImagineNation Outcomes Challenge. Keep up the good work!
